Thank you. Sorry. Goodbye. I love you. These basic words and phrases are among the early ones we learn, but they also represent big concepts whose larger meanings can be difficult to grasp. Magic Little Words tackles the challenge, presenting one little word” on each spread alongside a lyrical line that expresses its meaning: for instance, please” is a magic key that opens most doors, and I love you” is the most beautiful song for two. Collages of paper scraps and varied materials like lace work with pencil and crayon shading to provide depth, texture and a sense of whimsy. Two sketched characters play out the emotions of each scene, connecting the abstract text to concrete situations. This small-format book makes a great gift: while the words will be familiar, the text offers refreshing, enlightening new ways of looking at them.
Editorial : From School Library Journal PreS-Gr 2—Most children know the "magic words" to say, but do they really know what they mean? This poetic tale tackles the question with excellent results. Eleven expressions are presented with a one sentence explanation following each. "Welcome/I open my heart/and home to you." and "I'm sorry/I'm so sad/that I hurt you." are two examples in this magical book. Each explanation uses child-friendly language while opening the door for further discussion. One of the entries is "Rest In Peace/For eyes that have/closed forever." While the explanation is beautiful, it will undoubtedly have children asking additional questions. The quirky, childlike collage illustrations are a wonderful complement to the lyrical language. The amorphous characters, with hair reminiscent of troll dolls, add to the overall charm of the book. VERDICT A first purchase for most collections.—Brooke Newberry, La Crosse Public Library, WI

Briefly, if you are looking for a good introduction to set theory, this is not it, but for the set theory/formal system enthusiast it is a masterpiece.. Weighing myself today, I discovered that I lost 19.5 pounds so far! I measured myself and immediately noted that I lost 19 inches over all (I measure my chest, both arms, both legs, waist, and hips). I absolutely loved this book! It had great story line, wonderful characters and I had a hard time putting it down. Disorganized and full of self-pity! Furthermore, this woman seems like she has no sense of self-esteem at allI mean, why would you stay with a man who beats you (her boyfriends at the time the book was written) when you were fortunate enough to escape your first husband who beat you? She starts off the book wanting everyone to feel sorry for her, yet she made po
